I NEED YOUR PRAYERS... PLEASE PRAY MY HENRY HOME, HE IS MY HEART AND SOUL... (UPDATE AT BOTTOM)

Further updates will be in the right-hand column in the Twitter Notes. But continued prayers for Henry's well-being, wherever he is, mean a lot and if you want to leave a message leave it in the comments for this post and I will receive them. I thank you all for your outpouring of prayers, love and support.

With tender love, to my Henry, to the world...

My Beloved Grey Parrot Henry, 10 1/2 yrs.
old, handraised by me from a tiny featherless
baby, and my heart and soul...

This is a very brief post. I have been very sick this weekend and in the midst of it all yesterday afternoon, in the process of getting the dogs out, my beloved African Grey Parrot, Henry, who is my heart, soul, and constant companion, flew out the door for the first time in his life. He is disoriented and afraid, all authorities and animal shelters, etc have been notified and people are looking for him, but PLEASE, I need your prayers. I am at the breaking point with my mother coming so close to the end, and Henry is my beloved boy who keeps me together, safe and sane.

I beg you to pray for his safe return. Nothing else matters to me right now.

Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

Maitri

UPDATE: Monday, November 10, 2008

As of yet Henry has not been found but people are out in full force, posters everywhere, every imaginable person contacted, more today, and they are airing it on the radio on 3 stations today. We keep on keeping on, and I cannot begin to thank you all enough for your prayers, support, and good wishes. At this very difficult time it means more than you know, but I believe with my whole heart that my boy will come home. I will accept nothing else. Keep the prayer brigade going. You all are some of my greatest team members. Think: "Team Henry!"

Love and Blessings to All. I will continue to keep you posted....

Sent energy out to Henry, visualizing him flying back through your front door.

I hope he comes home soon. When one of my dogs got out and was missing, I was just sick until we found him. May things turn out as well with Henry as it did with our Jordan.

Dear Maitri - this may be of no use whatsoever - but a neighbour two doors down had the very same thing happen to her beautiful bird. She thought it would be lost forever and placed small piles of its favourite food around the garden. It flew back a few days later and to this day she didn't know where it went. So I hope that Henry finds his way back to you soon.

In the meantime, do you have a local radio station where you live or are they willing to help on National radio - or television - if they are then it may be worth while notifying them to ask for their help. They do this kind of thing in Britain to help find missing pets.

I am so sorry to hear this. Have you tried to put his cage outside the door he flew out. Maybe if you leave the door open and have some of his favorite toys around, he may fly back in. Hopefully he did not go too far from home. You are both in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know when he returns.

Maitri -- I'm so sorry to read this!

Poor Henry too! I am definitely praying that you two are reunited very soon!

You might try taking one of Henry's friends outside in a cage in the early morning and just before sundown when the birds do their flock calling. That might get Henry back to your yard at least.

Oh Maitri, I was so sorry to hear about this. I know how much you must be worrying right now. The same thing happened to one of my cats when I was living in the city...he got out one day on our third floor deck (which had a six foot fence), and all of a sudden leaped over the fence and went off somewhere for two days. And even though we searched the entire area of the building and all the other decks on that floor, she was nowhere to be found...I searched the neighborhood calling for him...then, the next day, as I was sitting on the deck wondering what else I could do, she popped over the fence and walked back into the apartment, as if nothing had happened. I am praying your favorite companion will be returned to you. Please remain positive. You just never know with animals...my thoughts are with you...

I am praying he finds his way back to you. Does he have a favorite song or sound that you can play for him to hear? It may help him if he is confused. Stay strong and we all are thinking of you.

Take care,
Kathy

Maitri, my thoughts are with and I think he will come home. Birds are amazing. I remember loosing a cockatiel once and for 2 weeks I left his cage outside hanging in a tree. I changed his food and water as usual. I also put out his favorite treats. I sat outside in the morning and evening every day for an hour and called to him. One evening just before dark I looked out and there he was, in his cage eating. He was a little dirty but otherwise ok. Keep calling him and he will find his way home.
